Tondre Wines

Tondre Grapefield was planted in 1997 on six and half acres in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation. It now has seven blocks for an accumulation of 80 acres Pinot Noir and 21 acres of Chardonnay grape vines. Several of the leading Pinot Noir clones are planted to ensure that there is a medley of fruit and sufficient Tondre pedigree character to suit vintner stylistic preferences. These clones are pruned to hang two clusters per shoot with an average thirteen shoots per vine which yield three and a half tons per acre of ripe and distinctive Pinot Noir grapes. You can be assured that every hand involved in the production of Tondre Wine is passionate about delivering a world class product.  Tondre and Joe feel that they have the perfect pairing of grape and winemaker…a task not so easily accomplished.  They feel that Tondre Wines reflect all the wonders, blessings and history of the Santa Lucia Highland Appellation.  They make all wines in small batches to assure quality from nose to finish. If you have the  Pallet for fine, velvety mouth feel wine, we think you will not be disappointed. For Joe, and Tondre (before his death), it has been a labor of love, and they are grateful to be able to share it with you.
