Figge Cellars is a small winery dedicated to making single vineyard designated wines from various appellations in Monterey. Started in 2005 by Peter Figge, the winery produces three varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The current releases feature two Pinot Noirs from separate AVA’s that contrast each other in all things terroir. For all of Figge Cellar’s wines, Peter is both the vineyard manager and winemaker ensuring that the wines are handcrafted. Case volumes vary from wine to wine and the total volume for Figge Cellars hovers around 1800 cases. Using sustainability as a focus in both the vineyard and the winery, the wines have an abundance of depth and character in keeping with the microclimates of the vineyards they are made from. Excellent examples of small lot, single vineyard wines handcrafted from the vines to the bottle and then to your wine list or shelf.
