Caliza Winery

Caliza is Spanish for the word ‘limestone’ and is an ongoing dream fulfilled one day at a time.  Caliza Winery is located off the quaint and picturesque Anderson Road in the Templeton Gap area of West Paso Robles. They are fortunate to neighbor Stephan Vineyards of the famed L’Aventure Winery as well as Booker  and Torrin Vineyards. There are two types of soils found in the vineyard, they are known as GAZOS and SANTA LUCIA soils (or a combination of the two). Both soil types consist of a mixture of fractured shale and clay loam. Winemaker and viticulturist Carl Bowker takes a sustainable approach to farming their vineyard and follow the guidelines set forth by the leading sustainable farming organization in the area, Vineyard Team. Their 20-acres of vineyards are planted Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre, Primitivo, Tempranillo, Viognier & Roussanne.

END OF THE DAY wines were born from the desire of winemaker, Carl Bowker to deliver great wines that can be enjoyed daily which are tasty, well priced and approachable.
