Ron Denner decided to pursue the dream of establishing a premium quality estate vineyard and winery following a long and successful career owning and operating Ditch Witch dealerships throughout the Western United States. The rocky, limestone hillside Estate vineyards allows us to grow truly incredible grapes for our estate wines. The ultra-modern gravity-flow winery was completed just in time for the 2005 harvest. The Denner Vineyards site has it all: rocky calcareous soils, proximity to the Pacific Ocean, access to the cooling ocean breezes of the Templeton Gap, and excellent exposures via careful row orientation. The vineyard was planted in 1999 with twenty-five different small blocks. The layout and design were based upon the specific terroir and microclimates of each hillside exposure. Rootstocks and clones were matched to each block. The Denners are dedicated to sustainable farming practices.
